GTA 6 gameplay & features
Rockstar hasn't published a features list, and this hub deliberately excludes the 2022 development-leak material — early, unrepresentative, and the reason so much "confirmed gameplay" coverage is wrong. Every system below is a database record built only on what official releases show or state, each with its evidence rating, sources and connections.
Confirmed gameplay systems (10)
Dual Protagonists
Jason and Lucia are both playable — the Extended Look shows both in extended play, each with their own loadout.
Weapon Wheel & Pickups
Each protagonist has their own weapon wheel, and downed enemies' weapons can be scooped up mid-combat.
Slow-Motion Aiming
A Dead Eye-style slow-motion aiming ability appears in the Extended Look's combat sequences.
NPC Interaction
RDR2-style ambient interactions return: greeting and antagonizing passers-by — and petting dogs.
Wanted System
The Extended Look shows a reworked wanted system with an expanded star scale.
In-Game Map
The pause map is rebuilt around detailed satellite-style imagery, replacing the schematic road view.
In-World Social Media
Both trailers are framed through in-world viral videos and social feeds — social media exists inside Leonida.
Open-World Activities
Shown so far: circuit racing for cars and bikes, basketball, backyard wrestling, and water sports across Leonida.
Wildlife Simulation
Leonida's wildlife — birds, dogs and the signature alligators — appears in systemic contexts across all official footage.
Jason & Lucia Romance
Day-to-day couple moments are shown in official footage; press previews describe an optional romance dimension.
Frequently asked questions
- Has any GTA 6 gameplay been shown?
- Yes — on August 27, 2026, Rockstar released 'An Extended Look', 20+ minutes of in-game footage captured on PS5, premiered on Netflix and published to Rockstar's channels. It's the definitive gameplay showcase; anything else labelled 'GTA 6 gameplay' on YouTube is trailer footage, the 2022 leak, or fake.
- Will GTA 6 have first-person mode?
- Unconfirmed. GTA V added first-person on current-gen consoles in 2014, so a return is plausible, but no official GTA 6 material shows or mentions it.
- What was the GTA 6 leak?
- In September 2022, early development footage was stolen and posted online. Rockstar confirmed the breach was real but the footage was years old and unrepresentative. This database doesn't treat leak content as evidence of the final game.
